Clipstage collects account information in two ways. First, you provide information directly when you authorize Clipstage to connect to your TikTok account through OAuth 2.0 authentication. This process does not collect any additional information beyond what is necessary for authentication. Second, with your explicit consent and authorization, Clipstage accesses specific data about your TikTok profile and content through the TikTok API. All data collection occurs transparently, and you control which scopes you grant when you connect your account.
When you authorize Clipstage, we request access to the following specific TikTok scopes:
user.info.basicuser.info.profileuser.info.statsvideo.listvideo.publishClipstage uses the data accessed through these scopes exclusively to enable your dashboard experience and to publish content you explicitly approve. Specifically, we display your profile information, analytics, and video library in your personalized dashboard so you can manage your TikTok presence in one place. We also use the video.publish scope only to post videos that you have actively selected, composed, and explicitly authorized for publication. We never use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than the core functionality of the Clipstage dashboard. Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose beyond those explicitly stated here.
Clipstage stores OAuth access and refresh tokens on secure, encrypted servers. These tokens are encrypted at rest and in transit, protecting them from unauthorized access. Critically, the TikTok OAuth client_secret is never exposed to any frontend code, client-side bundle, or user-facing interface; it is held exclusively on our backend servers. This ensures that your authentication session and data access remain secure at all times.
When you disconnect your Clipstage account from your TikTok authorization, all stored tokens are deleted immediately from our servers. You can revoke Clipstage's access to your TikTok account at any time through the Account & Permissions Settings screen. Upon disconnection, Clipstage no longer has access to any of your TikTok data, and no data is retained after the disconnection.
You have the right to disconnect your TikTok account from Clipstage at any time. This revokes all permissions granted to Clipstage and immediately halts any future access to your TikTok data. You can manage these permissions and disconnect your account directly from the Account & Permissions Settings screen within Clipstage. Your TikTok account and data remain under your full control, and you may reconnect to Clipstage at any time.
